Barbara Unell, Chair of the 2026 Ripple of Kindness Breakfast.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Barbara is an entrepreneur, author, adjunct professor, and nationally respected parenting and health educator with more than 40 years dedicated to advancing social justice, healthy living, and family well-being. She has authored or co-authored 18 books — including Discipline Without Shouting or Spanking, translated into 27 languages with more than one million copies sold — and is known for turning research into practical, hope-filled tools that help families thrive. Her leadership of this year’s Breakfast reflects a lifelong commitment to learning, community, and meaningful impact.

Kelly, a longtime Kansas City journalist and evening news anchor, is known for her thoughtful storytelling, steady presence, and deep commitment to highlighting the people and moments that shape our community.
Lara brings her own warmth and energy to the stage, drawing on years of experience covering local stories with empathy, insight, and a heart for service.
Together, their professionalism, authenticity, and shared passion for uplifting others make them the perfect guides for a celebration of kindness and the powerful ripple effect it creates.
