Will Shields played 14 seasons for the Kansas City Chiefs. He has received the top honors in the football world both as a player (Pro Football Hall of Fame) and as a philanthropist, receiving the Walter Payton Man of the Year honor. Together with his wife Senia, they founded the Will to Succeed Foundation, which seeks to guide & inspire, empower & improve the lives of those less fortunate by providing financial, educational and other everyday resources to those identified as most in need.

Since its inception in 1993, the foundation has helped over 100,000 individuals and helped raise millions for various causes.  Both Shields have had a particular passion for the needs of children in the urban core as well as foster kids, fighting domestic violence and hunger.

Will serves on the board of the Midwest Innocence Project, and Senia is a past board member for Care Beyond the Boulevard. They have been longtime supporters of Operation Breakthrough. Will is responsible for bringing the nonprofit i.c.stars.  Through training in technology, in leadership and in business skills, i.c.stars prepares change-driven, inner city future leaders to develop skills in business and technology for high-level careers in information technology (IT). The local organization has now graduated two co-horts with students securing well-paying jobs.
