Rev. Adam Hamilton is the founding pastor of The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in the Kansas City area. He grew up in the Kansas City area, earned a B.A. degree in Pastoral Ministry from Oral Roberts and a Master of Divinity Degree from Southern Methodist University, where he was awarded the B’nai B’rith Award in Social Ethics.

Hamilton launched Resurrection with his wife and two children in 1990. It has since grown to over 22,000 adults and children under his leadership. Today the church is the largest United Methodist Church in the United States and has nine locations in the Kansas City area and a presence online and on television.

He is passionate about helping people make sense of Christian faith and the scriptures, inspiring people to live their faith in service in the community and the world and building bridges.  Under his leadership, Resurrection is committed to four values that guide everything they do as individuals and as a church: thought-provoking, outward-focused, bridge-building and hope-radiating.

Rev. Hamilton has written over 36 books with Abingdon, Random House, Harper Collins and others.  Titles include The Message of Jesus, Wrestling with Doubt, Finding Faith, Seeing Gray in a World of Black and White, and Making Sense of the Bible.
